Fashion Mentor Program Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost?
No-only your time and commitment.
However, there is a $200 'place holder charge'. This is refunded to you at the end of the mentor session.
The $200 fee is to ensure that you attend the session. The mentors are donating their valuable time to provide you with career coaching therefore it is important that you committ to this program and the mentor agreement.
How do I apply, and will I get a place in the program?
Applications are online under the Fashion Future Mentor Program.
You must be a registered fashion Future Job SEEKER.
You are not guaranteed a place as there are limited numbers.
Application success is based on merit/combination of your skills, qualifications, goals experience and talent.
When does the program start /finish?
Applications are now open for registration. Please refer to each mentors registration page for specific dates
The official start is around Rosemount Fashion Week. The first mentor session is with Simon Lock, Director of www.rafw.com.au. Offical start Date is Friday 7th May 2010 with SIMON LOCK.
Apart from the MENTOR opportunity is there anyone else I can meet or anything else I can be part of?
Yes!. The sucessful candidates must attend 3 DELOITTE Business Manegment SEMINARS. These will be held at the end of June, July and August 2010.
Why do I have to be a Fashion Future JOB SEEKER?
Yes
Fashion Future Mentor Program forms an integral part of www.FashionFuture.com.au/jobs as coaching & mentoring falls under the umbrella of Fashion Future Careers and Recruitment.
How many mentors can I apply for?
You can apply for all mentors however the selection process is based on matching and aligning Mentors with mentees.
You can only apply once per mentor.
What will I get out of it?
Access to leading Fashion designers, Fashion Business professionals and a unique mentor experience with exposure to invaluable industry insights, knowledge and talent.
Key mentor topics is at the mentors discretion and will be discussed at your first mentor session.

Who is Fashion Future?
A Fashion & Beauty CAREERS Portal supporting emerging talent with a VIP shopping destination.
Is my personal information kept private?
Yes. Mentors and mentees are asked to guarantee confidentiality to one another at their first meeting. The manual provided to participants contains an agreement which each party is asked to sign.
What are the Mentor session times:
Each mentor session and opportunity is different. Please refer to each mentor application.
Generally, the times are negotiated between yourself and the mentor at mutually convenient times.
It is your responsibility to attend the mentor session. We cannot guarantee another time if you do not
Where are the Mentor sessions located?
Generally, the sessions are at the mentors design studio or place of work. However this is up to the mentors discretion
I live in another state can I still apply?
Yes. Everybody studying or working in the Fashion & Beauty Industry are encouraged to apply.
The majority of the mentors are located in Sydney NSW. The mentor session can be done via Skype, phone or email if the successful candidate lives interstate. However, please note that preference is given to a candidate based in the same state as the mentor as face to face mentor sessions can achieve better outcomes.
Am I required to do anything for Fashion Future or the mentor?
Yes. You must provide feedback to Fashion Future on the progress of the mentor session.
The mentor may have requests and it is in your best interest work together to get the best outcome of the program.
I live overseas can I apply?
No. The mentor program is only open to people who live in Australia.
